I’m a final-year Computer Networks and Communications student at UIT, VNU-HCM, working toward a career as a Research Engineer. I build SDN testbeds and study how network information and response models affect routing decisions.
My Vietnamese name is Đoàn Văn Tài. I’m based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and expect to complete my Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Networks and Communications in 2027.
My Research Journey
My work on DT4N started with a systems problem: how can a network be observed and controlled through a digital representation? I built an SDN testbed connected to Eclipse Ditto, with telemetry synchronization, anomaly detection, what-if analysis, and a closed control loop.
This connects to a decision problem. A twin works with observations collected at particular times and a model of how the network will respond to an action. To understand the decisions made from that information, we need to examine both what the controller observes and what its model predicts.
My ongoing State–Model–Regret research studies how these two factors separately and jointly affect expected routing decision regret. I use controlled queueing models and simulation to investigate the question. The work remains exploratory, with its assumptions and unresolved questions documented alongside the results.
What I’m working toward
I want to develop as a Research Engineer who can connect theoretical reasoning, simulation, experimental evidence, and working systems. My longer-term interests include graduate research in computer networks, Network Digital Twins, and AI / ML for networking.
How I work
I keep model assumptions, configurations, and measurement scripts with the code. I compare results with a defined reference and document failed targets alongside successful runs.
